About Lottie's Island Flavours
I was working as a Life Insurance Sales Rep in 1985 when I decided to make a daring change and start a personal business project. A friend of mine suggested I should make my recipes to sell instead of giving them away as I had been doing up until that time.
After perfecting two hot pepper sauces
worthy of being sold in super markets and other outlets across the
island of Barbados, I set forth on my venture. I began by cooking these
recipes in my home kitchen. However, the smell of hot sauce was so
strong throughout the house that I soon had to move the Lottie's hot pepper sauces quickly became very popular with Barbadians (Bajans) and the many tourists visiting that pretty island. Year after year our hot sauces won Gold Awards at the Barbados National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA). Lottie's hot pepper sauces are very flavourful and hot - A little bit goes a long, long, way! They must be used carefully until you familiarize your taste buds to the heat. It is advisable that you do not pour them directly on to your food, place your serving to one side of your plate and go gently!
